Shop Foreperson

As a Shop Foreperson, You Will:

- Manage the day-to-day operation of the shop
- Supervise all shop staff; through mentoring, coaching and accountability, provide leadership to all shop staff to instill a sense of ownership and career satisfaction
- Ensure that all work is performed safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner
- Minimize equipment downtime
- Implement and follow a cost-effective preventive maintenance program for all equipment and facilities as applicable
- Work with Parts Department to manage parts inventory; ensure timely and effective acquisition of materials; minimize on-hand inventory
- Ensure that all shop personnel, equipment, vehicles, and work areas always follow all safety policies and regulations
- Ensure that the shop and surrounding grounds are clean and always organized
- Liaise with Operations Supervisors and drivers in a professional and team-oriented manner
- Maintain all equipment records and files

What You'll Bring:

- Knowledge of excel and outlook an asset
- Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
- Heavy Equipment License an asset
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective team player
- Strong self-management and organizational skills and the ability to work well unsupervised
- Ability to work extended hours as required
