Water / Flood Technician

The Water / Flood Technician is responsible for emergency response and restoration projects, ensuring insurance company and customer goals are met through water remediation procedures in accordance with IICRCS-500 Standard.

- Hourly Wage: $26.00 - $28.00

**Job responsibilities include**:
- Work on job sites providing the following services:
- Water pumping and extraction- Mold remediation- Moving & re-setting contents- Selective demolition as required to accommodate the drying process- Debris disposal- Setting drying equipment- Carpet cleaning- Capable of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity and moisture content readings- Participate as directed in the following activities:
- Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections/ ensure vehicle is cleaned and restocked at end of shift- Constructing polyethylene enclosures- Maintaining equipment- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment- Comply with all **BELFOR**policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
- This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager

**Required Qualifications**:
- IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required- IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset- Previous construction, restoration or Insurance experience considered an asset- Familiarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per **BELFOR’s**vehicle policy- Ability to work within a team or independently as needed- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Self-driven to achieve goals and meet deadlines- Proven ability to multitask in a fast paced environment- Attend all** BELFOR**sponsored training courses- Basic computer and/or Tablet / iPad experience- Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested- Periodic travel may be required

**Physical Demands**:
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)- Access and mobility in tight spaces- Fit Testing - half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
