S&C is continuing to grow. Where do you come in? We are looking for a knowledgeable summer student to join our team as a Lean Intern. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and wants to gain valuable work experience.
**As a Lean Manufacturing Systems Summer Student, you will;**
- Analyze current processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Understand and help with the standard work method development.
- Support in the 5S blitz’s and prepare the Auditing documents.
- Support in the Kaizen activities and standard work
- Support in the documentation of the TPM events
- Conduct the time studies to help the Kaizen teams.
- Contribute to the culture of Continuous Improvement.
- Support identifying Identify wastes and implement process improvements for measurable cost savings.
- Implement improvement actions by supporting the change in the teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Who are we looking for? Someone who**
- Is currently enrolled in a post secondary institution (diploma or degree program)
- Has strong mechanical/mathematical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Is detail oriented.
- Has good communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with mínimal supervision.

**Physical Effort**:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort is required for day-to-day activity in the workplace. Involves mainly sitting at a desk and performing computer work. It may involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 5kg/11lbs
**Work Environment**:
Acceptable working office environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events e.g. spending time in the plant)
