**Job Description**:
**YOUR PROFILE**
The holder of the position of Health, Safety & Environment Advisor ensures the sound management of the health, safety and environment management system. The HSE Advisor assures us to support the Corporate HSE Director in the daily tasks. It also ensures the HSE management of workers, site safety and public protection at biofuel production facilities, in accordance with corporate directives and regulatory requirements in force.
The incumbent of this position will also play a leadership role in employee engagement in maintaining a safe work environment. He/She must encourage all employees to actively participate in the identification of hazards, risk control and the implementation of HSE policies and procedures. He/She will have to support and meet HSE training needs.
**YOUR CONTRIBUTION**
- Work closely with Site Managers to ensure Corporate HSE alignment.
- Develop, implement and ensure the maintenance of the HSE management system at the Corporate level, including safety programs such as Lockout, work at height, confined space, respiratory protection, etc.
- Develop, implement and maintain a site-level contingency plan.
- Implement and manage environmental programs such as discharge monitoring (Atmospheric, effluents, residual materials, etc.) to ensure regulatory compliance;
- Assist and support HSE committees.
- Define, develop and implement specific HSE training for all employees as well as maintaining monitoring of the training management system in accordance with internal standards, corporate policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure legal compliance in all applicable HSE areas.
- Count and report performance indicators and define corrective plans as needed.
- Ensure that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions are put in place.
- Ensure the management of accident files and the employee return to work program.
- Support in the management of the HSE budget and work in collaboration with the various consultants and suppliers.
- Prepare all kinds of reports to the various government agencies concerned. (CNESST, Federal, Provincial, etc.)
- Act as a representative at external committees, conferences or meeting with a government authority.
**Qualifications**:
**YOUR QUALIFICATIONS**
- Academic and professional training in health, safety & environment or any other form of appropriate training.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a comparable role, ideally acquired within a large-scale company operating in the chemical and/or petrochemical sector.
- Practical knowledge of the implementation of HSE management systems in an industrial environment.
- Excellent spoken and written mastery of the French language and functional spoken and written mastery of the English language.
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and computer science in general.
