**Meet the team**:Our Electricity team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to monitor emerging local and global economic and environmental trends and their implications, in order to ensure the Pembina Institute maximizes its impact in decarbonizing Canada’s electricity sector.
**The opportunity**: We’re looking for a** manager **based out of one of our five regional offices (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa) to join our Electricity team on a full-time, permanent basis.
We’ll lean on you to support the execution of the program’s strategy and initiatives, develop internal and external stakeholder relationships and support the development of team members by providing coaching, guidance and support. You will also develop policy options and provide strategic advice on a range of policy issues to ensure the Pembina Institute maximizes its impact in decarbonizing Canada’s electricity sector.
**Your key responsibilities**:
- Create program plans within the team, including the development of reports, media and government relations, and external engagement activities.
- Assemble and coordinate project teams to working on projects related to program and topic areas across the organization, providing mentorship and coaching as required.
- Support the creation and allocation of project budgets.
- Support fundraising efforts for the program in collaboration with the program director.
- Act as a spokesperson for media or support the director in delegating media spokesperson roles to team members as necessary.
- Represent the Pembina Institute in stakeholder consultations and workshops, acting as a key relationship holder with external influencers such as thought leaders and ENGO peers.
- Support the program director with team recruitment efforts.
**What we’re looking for**: As a key member of the Pembina Institute’s electricity team, you demonstrate both personal and professional commitments to advancing the organization’s vision, mission, values and strategic plan.
You are a strategic thinker who is self-motivated and results-oriented, demonstrating a high degree of research competency in electricity and climate policy, as well as analytical accuracy. You possess strong project management skills, able to organize and monitor competing deadlines. You have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills which allow you to convey complex matters in plain language to motivate a wide variety of audiences. Your commitment to sustainability and social change is evident through your educational and professional endeavors.
**You also have**:
- Minimum of five years of related work experience in a professional environment, such as industry, government, or the not-for-profit sector. A combination of work experience and education may be considered.
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, Economics, Law, Public Policy, or a related field; a master's degree is considered a bonus.
- Experience with energy and/or environmental policy advocacy and regulatory reform for environmental protection in the energy sector.
- Direct experience in developing or implementing provincial and/or federal environmental policy and regulation.
- Experience with independently leading successful projects from start to end.
- Experience as a spokesperson who can adapt to a variety of styles orally and in writing, from technical and academic reports and presentations to more informal blogs, social media posts and conversations.
- Experience with providing coaching or mentorship.
**Compensation and benefits**:**The hiring range for the position is $79,825 to $91, 413 annually based on a 37.5-hour work week**, with a range maximum of $103,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors inclusive of job-related skills, related experience, education and/
