**Team Leader
- School Aged** **Before & Afterschool (Full time - one year contract)**
Join our team at Seedlings Child Care Centre, conveniently located in Central Richmond steps away from the Canada (Skytrain) Line. We welcome you to join a positive, supportive team atmosphere where our focus is providing a sense of belonging, well-being, expression and engagement for children by developing and delivering age-appropriate programs; planning, preparing, guiding and assisting children in daily activities (indoor/outdoor) as it relates to a child-centred curriculum.
**YOUR IMPACT**:
- Provide leadership and guidance for staff in planning and implementing inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities that meet the needs of each child.
- Support the manager in the day-to-day running of the program, including providing key administrative support
- Facilitate effective team communication and interpersonal relationships emphasizing cooperation and flexibility
- Plan school-age programs using various child development techniques that respond to the diverse needs and interests of the children.
- Initiate learning opportunities for social, creative and recreational skill development and enthusiastically participate alongside the children in activities.
- Establish respectful relationships which promote dignity and self-determination.
- Maintain a safe, healthy and welcoming work environment.
- Encourage independence, problem-solving skills, and active learning to build self-esteem in an inclusive and respectful environment.
- Provide meaningful feedback and information to parents/families regarding their child’s learning and development, interests and emerging skills.
- Liaise with other agencies and individuals to support children’s progress and success.
- Working close with the Preschool Team and providing support occasionally
**YOUR CAPABILITIES**:
- Relevant post-secondary education in a related field,
- Experience supporting children in a similar environment.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Clear, current Criminal Records Check
- Valid BC Driver’s License, Class 4 is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization.
- Reliable problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills.

**Salary**: $29.17 - $30.18 per hour (plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits)
**Hours of work**: 10:30am - 6:00pm Monday-Friday (37.5 hours per week)
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $29.17-$30.18 per hour
