Annual variable compensation tied to goal completion has a target of 10-15% of the base salary. Some events cater to the individual, and others to their family - 50% BC Transit - Shower facilities for midday runs or biking to work; Victoria offers Galloping Goose access close by - The location offers free parking on-site or around the premises **What You'll Do** - Lead ASPE-compliant financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for all entities. - Manage quarterly consolidation and internal/external reporting - Oversee AP/AR, payroll, billing, inventory, and project accounting - Support cash flow planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting - Drive continuous improvement in systems, policies, and internal controls - Lead annual year-end process and ensure compliance with all regulatory filings - Analyze cost/margin data and provide business insights - Provide support on financing-related matters - Mentor and support the accounting team, fostering a high-trust, productive culture - Collaborate with teams across the organization to connect numbers to strategy **What You Bring** The StarFish team is talented, innovative, and passionate about developing cutting-edge medical devices to help improve people's lives. We work in a collaborative environment based on trust and respect. - 10+ years of corporate accounting experience, including 5+ years at the Controller level or equivalent - **CPA** designation and a degree in Accounting or Finance (CMA/CA/CGA) - Experience with project accounting systems; cost accounting is a plus - Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools - A strategic mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and technical depth - Experience with system implementations and/or SysPro is an asset
