Thunder Bay, Canada Relax Motel Full time

The Relax Motel operates in Thunder Bay with 18 rooms providing nightly accommodations to guests. Our goal is to provide affordable rooms with a high quality of service including room cleanliness.

We are currently hiring a summer student (May to August) to assist our team in renovating the building and maintaining the infrastructure. Reporting to the supervisor, this role involves maintenance and renovations work at the motel and other commercial properties owned by the company. The hours of work are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

**Responsibilities**:

- Empty construction waste, debris during renovations
- Drywall repairs
- Replace light bulbs and other fixtures
- Prep and paint walls and ceilings
- Assist with installing vinyl plank floors
- Install new vanity and cabinets
- Grass cutting, weed trimming, and raking
- Power-wash exterior of buildings
- Assist carpentry team with renovations

**Experience**:

- Technically inclined, any related education is preferred and is an asset
- Experience in maintenance is an asset but NOT required. Qualified and experienced staff will train the summer student.
- You can preform indoor and outdoor working conditions in various weather conditions
- You can complete repetitive physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
- You can lift medium to heavy objects
- Carrying tools and materials up 3 flights of stairs

This position is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs. All applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 years of age at the start of employment and a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident/Refugee as per the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
