Toronto, Canada Investor's Digest of CanadaMPL Communications Inc. Full time

We are a specialty news publication based in the financial district covering the Canadian and U.S. stock markets as well as other types of investments. We need a freelance writer (or maybe more than one) to help fill out our stable starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the year; however, this could be a long-term, part-time gig if we work well together. Your job will be to rewrite and condense reports about stocks from analysts at banks and brokerages for our retail investor audience.

Writing/journalism experience and business/investing knowledge along with any desktop publishing experience (for example on InDesign) are very welcome but not necessary. We are happy to train applicants who cannot offer a lot of relevant experience but are interested in investing and willing to learn.

That said, very strong reading and writing skills/comprehension (including proofreading/copy editing), the ability to quickly absorb and understand new information, and fastidious attention to detail are essential to excelling in this role. This is a writing job, not a copying and pasting job.
