**Position Summary**

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

**Operational Tasks**:

- Must be comfortable working with adults, more specifically adults with developmental disabilities and familiar with common adult education methodologies.
- Develop learning materials, learning strategies and deliver individualized programming focused on learners’ needs and goals in-person and online.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations, track learner progress, and maintain learners’ records.
- Assist Program Manager to develop innovative and creative ideas for all programming to cater to our target demographic.
- Maintain and coordinate classroom scheduling, conduct intakes and communicate with parents/guardians when necessary.
- Provide customer service to parents/guardians and all other walk-ins inquiring about Pathways to Growth and The Learning Place.
- Will need to use online platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams to deliver workshops when required.
- Communicate with Program Manager on an on-going basis throughout the week.
- Must assist Program Manager in community outreach and facilitating partnership meetings for the interest of the program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Pathways to Growth Program Manager

**Curriculum Development**
- Must be familiar with curriculum planning, creating, and executing.
- Curriculum must be relevant and varied for all learners’ interests, abilities, goals, and the structure of the program.
- Find creative resources for curriculum creation and incorporate them into the program (activities, entertaining learning, collaboration, team building).

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- College Diploma or higher in Developmental Services Worker (DSW) or Child Youth Care.
- Up to date First Aid Certificate Level C
- A vulnerable sector check will be required as a condition upon offer of employment
- Related experience working with adults with Developmental Disabilities/Autism/Dual Diagnosis/Metal Health disorders.
- Experience supporting individuals with unique and challenging behaviors in active treatment environments an asset but not necessary.
- Demonstrated understanding and training supporting individuals with ASD.
- Highly motivated and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding disability and social equity issues would be an asset.
- Understanding the strengths and challenges of adults with disabilities or multiple barriers and how to teach effectively while considering them, including the impact of learning disabilities on education.
- Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem-solving skills and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks for multiple stakeholders is critical to be successful in this role.
- Must be a self-starter and take a high degree of ownership for assigned tasks.
- Must be flexible to jump in and do what is needed to support the organizational goals and to meet objectives set forth by Program Manager and Executive Director.
- Must be able to travel between both our Mississauga and Brampton locations when needed.

**Working Environment**
- Flexible work hours are required but standard workday will be:

- Monday-Thursday 8:30am-3:30pm, Friday 8:30am -1:00pm.
- In-person to be conducted in Brampton Location primarily, and some opportunities for hybrid work along with flexibility to travel to sister location in Mississauga if need be (in the cases of coverage, supplying, assistance, etc.)
- During times of special projects or when asked - the hours of work may be beyond those listed and will be paid accordingly.
- Our environment is dynamic and fast paced - must be able to interact with a variety of community members, on the go staff as well as learners.
- Some lifting of small boxes and other small tasks may be needed.
- Would be ideal to have access to a vehicle as travel will be needed.
