Driver & Shipper/receiver

We are looking to hire a Driver & Shipper/Receiver for our Northstar Access yard in Port Coquitlam, BC. Our Driver & Shipper/Receivers will work both in the yard, and on the road, delivering scaffolding gear to company projects and/or customer rental sites. This is a unionized position and all yard workers will be required to join our labour partners.

**Driver & Shipper/Receiver Responsibilities**:

- Picking orders and ensuring accuracy
- Counting, stacking, and organizing scaffolding gear
- Responsible for keeping all the documentation of receiving and dispatch sheets in organized manner and recordkeeping on Hilti and Avontus Software
- Safety checks and inspections of gear and equipment keeping yard clean and organized
- Operate company vehicle to deliver gear to customer or project sites
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to safe work practices and the Northstar Scaffolding Safety Philosophy
- Manual loading and unloading required frequent lifting up to 50lbs occasional lifting up to 100lbs
- Ensure correct loading of vehicle and safety strapping/fastening of gear and equipment
- Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer or crew problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
- Complete all necessary paperwork, may include but not limited to: daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service.

**Minimum Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Highschool diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s license
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Commercial driving/delivery experience an asset
- High level of customer service commitment
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Professional and mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Able to work under mínimal supervision
