**Facilities Maintenance Team **- **$24-$26.50/hour**
**Part-Time, Permanent Position**
**3 hours per day Mon-Fri (2-5pm) + shared on-call (evenings and weekend)**
The Building Maintenance Team is responsible for providing support services for The Medical Centre by providing timely, customer service focused, professional and high-quality attention to the maintenance needs of our 45,000 sq ft building, grounds and associated properties. This is achieved by ensuring the facilities are well maintained through preventative maintenance including mechanical systems, building repairs and renovations, grounds and parking lots, as well as maintaining security and health & safety standards.
This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work independently and perform routine & proactive maintenance duties with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Shared on-call and after-hours duties (evenings and weekends)
- Performing basic carpentry and general repair work
- Painting
- Small scale cleanup
- Managing garbage, recycling, shredding and bio-hazard removal services
- Removing snow and ice from walkways
- Cutting grass, tending grounds
- Working closely with security/fire alarm company, HVAC contractor, parking control company, etc.
- Maintaining parking equipment
- Honesty, integrity, dependability, professionalism, empathy and a strong work ethic
- Comfort working in a health care environment
- Commitment to continuous learning
- Flexibility in managing new or changing Medical Centre schedules, needs and realities including being available after hours and on weekends as needed
- General proficiency in computer and cellphone use
- Superior time management, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with various stakeholders while building cooperative working relationships; a team player
- Strong customer service skills
- Sound judgment, reasoning, priority setting and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

- Ability to follow directions, adhere to policies/procedures, and seek guidance when necessary
- Employ discretion and a commitment to privacy and confidentiality in all matters
- Flexibility with hours will be required at times to support overall business needs
**Qualifications**:
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Fully Vaccinated (2 doses) with Covid-19 vaccine
- 3-5 years experience in commercial/office or public building/grounds maintenance role or equivalent, i.e. building trades experience
- Working knowledge and experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and parking control systems preferred
- Proven experience with power tools/equipment, drywall repair, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting
- Physically fit and able to stand and walk (including stairs) for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to work at heights and on a ladder
- Comply with policies and procedures, including health & safety and infection control standards
