Victoria Drain Services Ltd. is looking to hire a full-time permanent **MINI OPERATOR, LEAD** and a **PIPELAYER** in our excavation team for the installation of water, sanitary sewer, storm water drains, who share our passion for people and our core values.

**MINI EXCAVATIR OPERATOR, LEAD**

$29-$33 per hour - Starting hourly rate depends on experience.

We are looking for skilled Mini Operators with residential and commercial drainage experience to join our team.

**Education**:
Completion of Grade 12 education or higher is desired.

Valid Class 5, BC Drivers’ license.

Ability to enter and work in confined spaces. Confined Space ticket would be an asset.

**Qualifications**:
Skilled with mini excavator working in tight spaces.

Pipe laying skills an asset.

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Plan the daily tasks and coordinate with Superintendent.

Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, safety of your team and site.

Supervise and motivate crew.

Independent safety-minded team leader.

Assist with all roles of the project including hands on in the trench.

Fill out daily safety sheets.

Do weekly toolbox meetings.

Work in adverse weather conditions.

Greasing, cleaning, lubricating and fueling your equipment as well as keeping your cab clean.

**Key Duties**:
Operates mini excavator.

Daily maintenance checks, safety checks, and cleaning of equipment.

Works with ground staff in the safe excavation and installation of laying pipe online and grade.

Works with a small crew or independently to complete perimeter foundation digs and pipelaying.

Works closely with Superintendent on site and project instructions

**PIPELAYER**:
$27-$31 per hour - Starting hourly rate depends on experience.

We are looking for skilled pipelayers with residential and commercial drainage experience to join our team.

**Education**:
Completion of Grade 12 education or higher is desired.

Valid Class 5, BC Drivers’ license.

Ability to enter and work in confined spaces. Confined Space ticket would be an asset.

**Qualifications**:
Previous experience as Labourer preferred.

Previous experience in drainage preferred.

Previous construction experience beneficial.

Confined Space certificate beneficial.

**Key Duties**:
Installs water, storm and sanitary perimeter pipe systems.

Cuts pipes to required lengths, positions and aligns pipes during pipeline construction and prepares them for fusing or installation.

Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using fusing equipment, cement, glue or pipe soap.

Grades and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.

Digging, heavy lifting and site/shop clean up.

Operating Jumping jacks, plate compactors an asset.

Work in adverse weather conditions.
