**Job Summary**:
Working towards being able to assemble manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by assembly drawings.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Required to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company Health and Safety and Other Policies
- Accept guidance and feedback from those more experienced in the Machine Building trade, including feedback on safe work practices, skills and behavior
- Begin to assemble manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by assembly drawings. Work is generally of a standard nature and involves adjustment and fitting by eye using standard hand tools
- Additional hours may be required for scheduled or unscheduled onsite customer service on evenings or weekends
- All above duties to be performed in a timely manner and in an ISO 9001 environment

**Position Requirements**: (Knowledge, Skill, Ability)
- Must have good math and communication skills
- Must have a good mechanical aptitude and be familiar with measurement tools
- Must have the ability to: Read blueprints

Operate hand tools

Work independently and with others

Take direction and receive constructive criticism

Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Must own a complete set of tools

**Autonomy and Authority**
- Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and methods of approach.
- Work progress is under regular review.
- Does not give direction to others.

**Education, Experience, and Qualifications**:

- Minimum requirement of grade 12 and/or equivalent experience
- Basic Shop Safety Rules and Knowledge of duties under OHSA & WSIB

- Must have a valid passport and driver’s licence, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally
- Must be available to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks

**Special Requirements (physical demands and work environment)**:
Must be physically able to assemble automated machinery from standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and prone positions. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment. Frequent heavy lifting required. May be exposed to medium to high noise levels.
