**Fife House** is an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area. With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2020-2021, Fife House served more than 850 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs as well outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

**Fife House **Huntley Program is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a full-time cleaner. As a cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our community.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, to ensure that all common areas of 9 Huntley are clean and well-maintained.
- Assist in room cleaning with Personal Support Workers during room turnovers
- Sanitize and disinfect surfaces, such as countertops, kitchen appliances, and bathroom fixtures, to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic environment.
- Empty and clean trash bins regularly, ensuring proper disposal
- Clean and restock bathrooms with supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and paper towels, to ensure that residents and staff have access to clean and well-maintained House
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and promptly report any shortages or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and follow established cleaning procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents and staff, responding promptly and courteously to any cleaning-related requests or concerns.
- Maintain cleaning logs or checklists to track tasks and ensure thoroughness.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs observed during cleaning routines.
- Assist with cleaning and setup for special events or gatherings held at the program.

**Inventory Management**:

- Create and maintain lists of necessary cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment. Proactively communicate any needs or shortages to the Program Manager.

**Administrative Tasks**:

- Maintain cleaning logs or checklists to track tasks and ensure thoroughness.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs observed during cleaning routines.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers, safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to cleaning tasks.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
