**Belvika Trade & Packaging Ltd.** is a leading one-stop contract packaging company, specializing in precision packing of dry foods, chocolate and confectionary products from multiple facilities totaling more than 500,000 ft2. A 30-year-old and 100% owned Canadian Company, Belvika has grown to be one of the largest co-packers of chocolate, confectionary and snack products in Canada. Belvika uses its extensive experience in managing both manual processes and automated equipment to handle primary and secondary packaging of products for some of the world’s best known confectionary brands.
Belvika is currently seeking a **Quality Assurance Supervisor** **to maintain the overall quality standards for all products packed and ensuring that the Company's & Client’s quality specifications are complied with at all times. The QA Supervisor will be located at 9050 Airport Rd., Brampton, but will oversee 6690 Goreway Dr, Mississauga facility also.
- Manage the work of multiple QA Coordinators, create work assignments, provide training and skills development, and conduct performance reviews. Initiate and take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF code.
- Ensure daily Quality & Food Safety operations. Conduct daily GMP audits and follow up; execute traceability exercises; and update SOPs. Verify documentation of day-to-day operations is complete and compliant.
- Support the QA Manager on certification audit (SQF), customer audits, and internal audits. Ensure the facility is audit ready all the time.
- Follow up on issues of non-compliance and product defects. Lead the investigation and corrective action/preventative action of non-food safety incidents, product holds, customer/consumer complaints and all internal quality issues.
- Consolidate, develop, and publish product and packing specifications, and ensure all QA forms are created before production.
- Maintain the company food safety and quality program updates and verifications to ensure the facility is meeting regulatory and compliance requirements for all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities.
- Responsible for assisting QA Manager in developing and implementing the employee’s annual refresher training in HACCP, GMPS, SOPS, Food Defense and so on, and resources management.
**Education/Work experience requirements**:
- University education in food science or other applicable degree.
- 2+ years related work experience in a food industry environment in a quality leadership role.
- Solid knowledge of understanding GFSI requirements (for example SQF).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- HACCP Certification required and SQF certification is preferred.
**Key technical & **behavioural** competencies**:
- Self-starter who works well under pressure and has great time management skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel;
- Great interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well both independently and with multiple departments as required;
- Knowledge and basic understanding of allergen and pathogen swabbing techniques;
- Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods;
- Detail oriented;
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task;
- Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
