**About the role**:
We are excited to present this opportunity to a mid-level EHS professional who wants to work within a team of high-performing **Construction EHS Professionals **in the **Montreal, Quebec** area. This is a full-time 12 month contract with the possibilities of being extended. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys tackling complex problems to find the best solution(s). We want a confident, communicative leader who rises to the challenge to promote safe daily work practices. **More about the Role, and Responsibilities**:
- Manage large-scale construction projects by initiating and attending meetings, performing site walks, and ensuring contract requirements are in place
- Educate various stakeholder groups on EHS requirements and best practices
- Collect data, create timely reports, and communicate trends from field inspections to stakeholder groups.
- Observe work practices onsite and strive to create solutions that optimize employee health and wellness at all times
- Coach personnel on CCOHS (Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety) requirements and client-specific expectations
- Prepare slide decks and deliver training to the client and other EHS professionals
- Lead meetings as the representative from EHS
- Build programs in collaboration with the greater EHS team
- Lead incident investigations to drive future improvement, safe conditions and work practices
- Possess a willingness to continuously learn about new and established processes - be enthusiastic
- Have ability to both lead and take direction - ask questions
- Be a self-starter and show initiative
- Possess computer/technical skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Programs, corrective action software)
- Individuals with mechanical aptitude are strongly encouraged to apply
**Education/Qualifications**:
- Must be able to speak, read and write in both French and English
- Minimum educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree is preferred but can be excused with demonstrated experience
- 5 years' experience in EHS is preferred
- Degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, Biology, Chemistry or Engineering is appreciated but not required
- Public speaking skills are strongly desired
- Have a desire to grow within the EHS field; willingness to pursue advanced certifications CSP - Certified Safety Professional, CHST - Certified Health and Safety Technician, CRSP - Canadian Registered Safety Professional etc.)
- Well versed with Google Suite programs such as (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides. Advanced knowledge in Excel is a plus
- Experience as a Construction EHS Owner Representative is appreciated; Construction EHS experience is strongly desired.
