**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Total Rewards, the Analyst, Total Rewards is responsible for supporting various aspects of payroll, as well as compensation & benefits functions, including payroll accounting, reconciliations, payroll and benefits budgeting, creation and evaluation of reports, and remittances, and various other administration, in an effort to ensure accurate and efficient Total Rewards operations.**Responsibilities**
- Supports various aspects of payroll, as well as compensation & benefits administration, including remittances, and reconciliations.
- Supports salaries & benefits budgeting activities, including development of initial budgets and reevaluation and refinement throughout the fiscal year.
- Responsible for various aspects of payroll accounting including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Acts as a liaison between Total Rewards and various internal and external stakeholders (e.g. accounting personnel, external auditors, CRA).
- Prepares accurate and complete inter-company billings.
- Provides Payroll team with the necessary external feed inputs for employee purchases and taxable benefits (parts purchases, taxable benefits, lease programs etc.) on a timely basis for each payroll run.
- Supports annual tax reporting including preparation of T4 slips and returns.
- Supports day-to-day compensation & benefits tasks and projects, as assigned.
- Supports internal and external audits of the payroll function.
- Works in cooperation with the overall Total Rewards team in salary adjustment and bonus process preparation and administration.
- Responds to requests from employees and external agencies on matters relating to financial controls in Human Resources.
- Prepares reports for management and third parties.
- Identifies ways to improve financial reporting and governance in Human Resources.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of relevant payroll, accounting, and/or compensation and benefits experience.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS and SOX
- Ability to plan, direct and administer programs and systems.
- Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented and accurate.
- A high level of individual initiative and ability to work with mínimal direction.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in accounting.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Workday HRIS and Payroll modules would be a plus.
- Develops and maintains solid and respectful working relationships with all members of the Total Rewards, Finance and People & Performance teams.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
