KLC College**: Pharmacy Technician Program Coordinator** - MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON-SITE AT KINGSTON CAMPUS_ **About KLC** **Job Summary** KLC's Pharmacy Technician training program is a 40-week diploma program that provides students with the theoretical, practical, and experiential learning experiences to prepare them for a career as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT). This role includes direct supervision of program faculty and keeping the Director of Academic Programs informed of situations/concerns which could affect faculty/students and overall image and welfare of the College. It also includes taking responsibility for P&L (Profit and Loss) by using the resources wisely and making the program profitable; as well as maintaining current and establishing new relationships with community stakeholders for student experiences A Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist with in-hospital experience is preferred. The Pharmacy Technician Coordinator will report to the Director, Academic Programs. **Key Competencies** - Demonstrated commitment to ongoing program improvement and delivering outstanding quality and results - Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others to achieve optimal outcomes/results - Demonstrated effectiveness with supervision and mentoring staff to achieve desired performance outcomes - Demonstrated effective management of resources consistent with organizational, department and team goals - Demonstrated understanding and commitment to health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legislation - Demonstrated professional work attitude and behaviours in interaction with internal and external stakeholders - Demonstrated effectiveness as a team member through collaboration, respect and effective communication - Availability to students (on request) - Promptly identify "at-risk" students and refer these students for appropriate assistance - Prepare mid-term and final evaluation reports - Responsible for daily attendance and grading all assignments, tests, projects, or simulation labs associated with the courses being taught - Punctually start and end classes and labs at the prescribed times - Regular work performance reviews each term and may be mentored by Director, Academic Programs - Be familiar with KLC College’s most current Policy and Procedures - Participate in CE credits and/or conferences applicable to your field - Create and maintain a network of other professionals - Current registration (with no restrictions to practice) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists **Minimum experience** 1) 4 years as a Registered Pharmacy Technician **OR** 2) 2 years as a Registered Pharmacy Technician **AND** (_any one of the following_) Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian University or an equivalent degree. **OR** A graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Science **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal Schedule: - Monday to Friday **Experience**: - registered pharmacy technician: 2 years (required)
