Student Life Intern

Position Purpose and Summary

**The Richmond Student Life provides learning and ministry experiences for students within the Richmond Student Life department during the nine month academic school year. The intern gives particular assistance to programming and mentoring in both face-to-face and online endeavors within the Richmond Student Life department. All this is done with a view toward the overarching goal of developing spiritual maturing disciples of Jesus Christ.**:
Key Areas of Accountability

**General**:

- To work, with the relevant Richmond Student Life staff, to ensure that effective, sustainable learning and ministry experiences for students in the respective ministry areas are maintained and that strategic new ones are developed and implemented.
- To contribute to the development of innovative programming as well as the development of resources that can extend the reach beyond traditional contexts.
- To contribute to the disciple-making efforts of the Richmond Student Life department through at-large ministry to TWU students.
- To assist in the regular assessment of the effectiveness of the experiences offered by the Richmond Student Life department.

**Specific**:

- To recruit, mentor and disciple Richmond Student Life leaders and members, particularly in the areas of local and global ministries.
- To recruit and promote awareness of all Richmond Student Life experiences offered.
- To assist in the assessment and evaluation of Richmond Student Life initiatives.
- To provide personal and spiritual mentoring for students as needed.
- Serve as a team player within Richmond Student Life assisting to accomplish the mission of the department.

Standards & Requirements

**Education**: Bachelor’s Degree in related field (required)

**Experience**: At least one year of leadership in a Christian ministry or significant involvement in student ministry required. Previous ministry to university students in the area of missions, outreach or evangelism preferred.
