**Summer Camp Counsellor**

- Attends to and ensures the safety and supervision of children and youth (from ages 4 years - 12 years old)
- Works with a team to create daily and weekly age-appropriate lesson plans for manager review, incorporating a variety of games, arts and crafts, educational activities, and outdoor play.
- Assists with sourcing and purchasing items and materials for camp (with reimbursement)
- Oversees LITs (Leaders-in-Training, ages 11-12) to make sure they are participating and contributing positively to the overall camp experience.
- Actively cleans and disinfects the kids area and leaves the room organized after each shift
- Follows all safety procedures for campers including proper documentation of emergency contact information, attendance, medical information, and storage of medical equipment or supplies
- Delivers a high level of customer service, especially when communicating with parents or potential customers
- Collects video and photo content of campers throughout the day, to be shared on social media channels
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationship with co-workers and members
- Other duties as assigned, such as assisting with kids birthday parties, special events, kids Muay Thai and fitness classes, or after-school programming

**Please be aware that opening shifts can start as early as 7:45am and closing shifts can end as late as 5:30pm.

**Must be able to attend VRTU's Summer Camp mandatory training on June 11th, June 12th and June 25th prior to the start of camp.

- A strong interest in participating in community development and ensuring kids live healthy, active lifestyles

**Position Requirements**
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children and youth, camp experience preferred
- C.P.R and First Aid certification must be completed prior to start date
- Criminal Record Check
- Minimum of 2 professional references
- Experience in martial arts or fitness is an asset
- Enrolment in ECE or Teachers College is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week
