We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your expertise to this exciting **Professional Practice Chief - Physiotherapist** role to work in our **Fraser Canyon Hospital** located in **Hope, British Columbia**.

**In this position, you will**:

- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to physiotherapy staff
- Collaborate with the Manager on the implementation and evaluation of the Physiotherapy objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Assume a clinical caseload

**We are looking for you to have**:

- Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy
- Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC)
- Five (5) years' recent, related clinical experience including a minimum of one (1) year's experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity.

Detailed Overview:
The Professional Practice Chief, Physiotherapy provides clinical leadership, supervision and support to physiotherapy staff to ensure the provision of quality physiotherapy services. Develops, implements, and evaluates physiotherapy specific professional practice standards and delivery of high quality, patient-focused care consistent with the vision and mission of Fraser Health. In addition, the Professional Practice Chief is responsible for a clinical caseload for a designated clinical area.

**Responsibilities**:

- Acts as the senior consultant and provides clinical leadership to departmental staff in the provison of physiotherapy services.
- Establishes, implements and evaluates clinical standards of practice, quality improvement initiatives, work methods, procedures and systems, and initiates changes in procedures as required.
- Participates in the development and evaluation of inter-disciplinary policies and procedures. Participates in the development and utilization of clinical information systems to support clinical practice and promote continual improvements in client/patient care.
- Monitors practice trends, identifies changing client/patient care needs and makes recomnendations for changes based on evidence based practice and current research.
- Supervises departmental staff, including scheduling the activities of departmental staff and ensuring that daily staffing assignments meet operational needs.
- Identifies staff learning needs; develops and provides in service instruction to staff.
- Evaluates employee performance by conducting performance appraisals; makes recommendations on disciplinary action.
- Assists the Manager, Health Services in the recruitnent and selection of staff by participating on interview panels and making recommendations for hire. Determines orientation and training requirements.
- Assists the Manager, Health Services in the preparation of operating and capital budgets; monitors operating expenditures against budget; investigates and justifies variances; takes correction action as required.
