The Lead Hand Receiving ensures the accuracy of orders received to ensure correct quantities and quality of goods and be able to multitask to book appointments with coordination teams and offer direction to the receiving team.

This person must have a strong understanding of warehouse systems, receiving procedures, inventory control, and be able to skillfully and safety use forklift equipment. They are expected for follow work safe procedures and must have effective communication skills to give constructive feedback and training.

This individual must have supervisory skills and be able to act as receiving supervisor in the supervisor’s absence.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment
- Sorts, counts, inspects received materials as per receiving procedures
- Computer savvy and able to work with electronic receiving files
- Authorize inbound transportation and book appointments
- Maintain an overview of warehouse locations and inspect for stocking errors and follow up with appropriate individuals
- Operate pallet jack, lift trucks and forklift with safety
- Follow up and ensure stock is properly into rotation and conduct any investigation for location issues to ensure inventory adjustments are correct.
- Identify, monitor, and communicate all close dated product to appropriate teams
- Ensure close dated product is distributed to food bank prior to expiry date
- Ensure free shelf has appropriate products and all damaged or expired products are discarded
- Assist with inventory and inventory management and investigations as required
- Leads, guides, and trains employees on work duties as required and fulfilled role of Receiving Supervisor as needed for vacation relief or days off

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Physical ability to do occasional heavy lifting, bending, twisting and repetition
- Computer proficiency
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to Work without supervision in a cross functional team environment
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks in in an environment of changing deadlines and priorities
- Proven ability to be analytical, organized, meticulous, a good problem solver, self-starter and fast learner
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to receiving and provide direction to operational teams when process issues arise
- Ability to work effectively without supervision
- Highly motivated and reliable

**Salary**: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
