**We are seeking a passionate Building Maintenance Supervisor in Whitby, Ontario to join our village.**

**What we need**

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, the **Building Maintenance Supervisor** **will be responsible for the supervision of the technical services team which may require shift work, including afternoons, nights and holidays. The incumbent will be responsible for the preventive maintenance program, proper operation of mechanical equipment and machinery. The incumbent will be working alongside the Pool Operator Supervisor and the Landscaping Supervisor

**What you’ll do**
- Supervise and distribute tasks to employees under their responsibility and ensure compliance with the standards set out by the organization; works closely with Maintenance Admin Planner;
- Ensure that health and safety standards are respected and applied in the workplace;
- Ensure the maintenance of the mechanical and electrical rooms, workshops, warehouses and other premises of the department;
- Carry out repairs of various kinds, as needed;
- Carry out the required operations of calibration, adjustment, modification and programming of the various controls;
- Ensure the proper functioning of systems (heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, controls, etc.);
- Regularly inspect generator, air exchangers, air and water filters, etc;
- Collaborate in the management of the personnel, the integration in employment, the approval of the hours and the management of the absences;
- Communicate relevant information with the manager between shift changes;
- Communicate with the manager the needs in terms of equipment and parts as required;
- Perform other related tasks.

**Profile needed**

**What is the profile needed in order to be successful in this position**
- College diploma (DEC) in building services technology, an asset;
- Experience in project management or site supervision, an asset;
- Manual and technical work skills;
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, an asset;
- Organizational skills and attention to detail as well as safe maintenance practices;
- Sense of challenge, perseverance and resistance to stress
- Good physical condition, ability to lift loads of 50lbs (22.5kg) easily; ability to work in a noisy, hot and/or cold outdoor environment;
- Ability to work under certain pressures (for example, emergencies).
