**Job Summary**

The role is responsible for developing the product strategy across our Health, Dental, Wellbeing, Disability, Life and Critical Illness products suites. Leading 3 teams, this individual will leverage industry trends, health insights, emerging technologies, and partnership opportunities to continue to evolve employee benefit coverage options and services. Serving 3 key stakeholders, Advisors, Sponsors, Plan members and their families, the product suite must balance expanding coverage, cost management, and optimizing health outcomes, while ensuring our solutions respond to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility and support achievement of the broader Group Benefit’s business plan.

**Individual **Responsibilities**:

- Strategic leadership with accountability for setting the future direction of the Group Benefits Health, Dental, Life, CI and Disability product roadmap by providing proactive research, insight and innovative solutions that align with the strategic plans of Manulife Canada’s Group Benefits business.
- Identify market, industry and competitor trends & assess/communicate how they impact our product offerings; develop and implement strategic initiatives to benefit from these insights through,
- Tracking the evolving regulatory landscape and developing insights on the implications to our strategic orientation and new market opportunities
- Analyzing the competitive landscape including customer needs, market sizing and competitive/comparative advantage to alternative solutions
- Fostering a climate of innovation leading to the development of new investment products, new concepts and new product approaches including DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion) strategies
- Accountable for the product innovation process by engaging the Canadian and Global Product organizations in effective strategic discussions, decision-making and planning
- Work closely with key organization stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Finance
- Deliver a complete business case to receive executive leadership endorsement and funding approval
- Accountable to ensure proper oversight and compliance with the regulations governing Group Benefits Products and Services.
- Build and monitor KPI reporting framework to ensure that product delivery is meeting the established revenue generation targets, plan sponsor and member participation, health outcomes and experience.
- Provide leadership and mentorship within the product team, supporting employee development and engagement
- Support Sales and Marketing efforts designed to attract and retain plan sponsors and educate and engage advisors.

**Shared Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with Operations, Data, Advanced Analytics, Member and Sponsor Digital and Health platform squads to ensure that our product experience and service delivery, both digital and in person, is executed superbly
- Collaborate with Marketing, Finance and Distribution leadership to achieve the business plan.
- Identify opportunities, select and negotiate partnership arrangements in collaboration with the Strategic Partnership and Procurement that drive net new revenue opportunities for Manulife (Group Benefits and Affinity Markets).

**Job Requirements**:

- Minimum of 7-10 years of Group Benefits related experience. Product Development & Management experience required.
- Strong financial acumen
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required; MBA is preferred.
- Curiosity and interest in seeking out innovative solutions, technologies and partnerships that address the unmet needs of our clients.
- Ability to develop and articulate the product & distribution strategy, which includes research, business casing, and KPI development
- Excellent negotiations, influencing and communication skills
- Ability to be a thought leader in the context of the Canadian Group Benefits industry, anticipating trends and identifying areas of opportunity. Be on the forefront of seeing and understanding disruptive solutions and strategic thinking as it relates to the industry.
- Demonstrated track record of execution and delivery.
- Ability to challenge, coach and enable staff members to develop to their fullest potential.
- The key aspect of leadership includes providing clarity related to priorities, gaining the support of functional teams to deliver to the strategy and alignment across operations.
