About the Role

Calgary Academy is seeking a Spanish & International Languages Teacher to join our Integrated Studies program for the 2025-2026 school year to cover a maternity leave. This role includes responsibility for teaching Spanish 20-30 and self-directed International Languages course.
- Bachelor of Education, with a specialization in Spanish, or other languages
- Demonstrated fluency in Spanish; additional language proficiency (e.g., French, German, Japanese, Latin) considered an asset
- Understanding of second language acquisition theory and culturally responsive pedagogy
- Familiarity with digital language learning tools, such as Rosetta Stone
- Enthusiasm for experiential learning, including cultural events and field trips
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or Interim Alberta Teaching Certificate and a positive outcome on a current Criminal Record Check, inclusive of the Vulnerable Sector.

This position will follow the school calendar, with two and a half weeks off over the winter break, two weeks for spring break and approximately seven weeks over the summer break.
