**SOUTHLAKE RESIDENTIAL CARE VILLAGE**

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Housekeeping Aide maintains high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the home by cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas following established policies and procedures. Ensure residents’ safety by following established policies and procedures. The laundry aide collects, sorts, washes, dries and folds linens and personal clothing. Delivers laundry and personal clothing. Labels personal clothing in accordance with established polices and procedures. Ensures residents safety by following established policies and procedures.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Cleans and disinfects Patient and Resident rooms
- Cleans and disinfects washrooms
- Empties waste receptacles
- Sweeps and mops floors
- Cleans and Disinfects Nursing Stations, Clinical and Non Clinical spaces, and Public areas
- Office Cleaning
- Vacuums carpets
- Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

*All COVID-19 Cleaning processes and protocols must be followed as mandated by Public Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum Grade 10 education
- Previous health care cleaning an asset
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must have a working knowledge of WHMIS
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
- Demonstrates individual initiative to work independently and as a team player
- Collects/Receives laundry and sorts according to type, condition and weight. Follows specific instructions for treatment of soiled linens. Separate loads according to classification
- Washes and dries laundry following instructions for machine operations, designated washing and drying times, etc. Sorts and folds, and lines personal clothing and puts on linen cart for delivery
- Observes operation of machines and reports malfunctions to Supervisor. Assists in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment and supplies. Cleans machines as required. Cleans and tidies floor and laundry area. Advises Supervisor of inventory levels of chemicals and linen shortages

*Previous experience in LTC/Health care is preferred

**ENVIRONMENT**
- Working with cleaning agents and chemicals
- Working in areas were there may involve residents with social behavior challenges
- Working environment has pets
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures and noise extremes
- Requires heavy-duty cleaning and lifting
- Requires using a ladder and reaching above the head

*Please note that a full covid-19 vaccination status is mandatory in our long-term care facility.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 15-37 per week

**Salary**: From $18.49 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Weekend availability
