**Position Summary**:
At Grace Manor, our Activity Assistants put the “fun” back in fundamental. Programming is fundamental to the wellbeing of the whole person You take a person-centered approach in planning and implementing recreation programs that meet the needs and varied interests of the folks who live here.

**Who you would work with**:
You report directly to the savviest program planner of all, our very own in house creative genius
- the activity and volunteer manager.

**This position is for you if**:
You’re a go getter and the “ideas” person in your family/group of friends. There’s no shortage of creativity flowing through your veins You’d be responsible for planning thoughtful and engaging programs for 128 residents. You say you love autonomy? No problem you’ll have some of that. You would be given the opportunity to plan and execute programs that are meaningful to our residents and put your own new spin. More of a team player? No sweat We love to work as a team. There is no shortage of support available within your new department. They love to collaborate, the more ideas the better

Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to work every weekend, but we do expect a commitment of two weekends a month. Note this is a FULL TIME contract of four months.

**The Education and expertise that makes you outstanding**:

- Naturally you already possess a Diploma in recreation and activity from a community college (or are actively completing the program), or a Degree in Human Kinetics. You’re also able to provide some incredible references.

**Upon hire you will be asked to provide a clear police check for the vulnerable sector and evidence of a clear / negative TB test.

**The above responsibilities are to be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, exemplifying Christian standards of conduct.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: From $23.21 per hour
