**Estimator**

**Title**: Estimator

R**eports To**: Body Shop Manager

**Summary**

The Estimator is responsible for the maximization of sales through accurate detailed repair estimate preparation and good customer relations. Knowledge of current vehicle repair procedures, people skills and attention to detail is essential for this position.

**Job Duties**
- Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Prepares repair estimates accurately and efficiently
- Provides customer with explanation of repairs required
- Receives work authorization from insurance companies and customer before starting work
- Orders parts required as per estimates
- Prepares repair orders with customer authorization signature to proceed
- Negotiates with insurance representatives and appraisers to establish an agreed upon compensation for repairs
- Assists customer with warranty related problems requiring Manufacturer warranty coverage
- Follows-up on all work in progress as required
- Follows appropriate rack rotation of jobs according to Control Tower Operators designation
- Completes follow-up calls on previously written estimates for increased sales
- Ensures completion of job he/she estimates
- Ensures repairs have been completed in accordance to repair work order and quality inspects each vehicle
- Reviews completed work with customer at time of pick-up
- Attends training/seminars as required
- Attends department meetings as required
- Ensures all safety policy and procedures in accordance with IAPA, WHIMS and company are strictly adhered to
- Preforms other related duties

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in body shop repair or in estimating
- Working exposure to body shop environments
- Knowledge of current vehicle repair procedures

**Working Conditions**
- May be required to work overtime
- Uniform required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Dartmouth, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Collision Estimating: 1 year (preferred)
- Under writing: 1 year (preferred)
