**Theatre Arts and Dance Academy (formerly Haois Singing & Music Theatre School) is recruiting a Director and Teacher of Youth Musical Theatre Show Production. The position is titled Manager of Performing Arts Education. We are seeking someone experienced in singing, acting, and dance to join our team and help build a vibrant performing arts community.**

Theatre Arts and Dance Academy (formerly Haois Singing & Music Theatre School) is a performing arts school serving aspiring performers in Markham. Our team of arts educators guides performers of all ages through engaging programs built on performing arts fundamentals (singing, acting, and dancing) to help them build skills, including confidence, collaboration, public speaking, and much more.

We are committed to creating safe community spaces for children, youth, and adults along with their families, where they can express themselves while developing essential skills for their futures.

**About the Job**

Are you passionate about the performing arts? Do you have experience in leading and managing educational programs for children and young adults? If so, this position may be a great fit for you.

We’re looking for someone who can:

- Lead and direct our Senior Musical Theatre students in their end-of-year musical production.
- Lead and direct end-of-term showcases to highlight student performances.
- Consult on, design and execute lesson plans for interactive performance arts classes, ensuring they are age-appropriate and align with TADA’s goals and values.
- Utilize theatre technical skills, including lighting, sound, props to support various productions and classes.
- Oversee administrative tasks, including attendance, and communication with parents and staff.
- Follow the direction of the leadership team and manage marketing and sales efforts to promote the school’s programs and events.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns from parents and students professionally and promptly.
- Support the leadership team with organization and planning for events like music festivals, community performances, and other special projects.
- Develop and implement programs with the leadership team to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies for program growth and improvement.
- Ensure all programs and activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with children and young adults in an in-person setting.
- Available to work weekends, some week day evenings
- Experienced in management and operation of an organization or groups.
- Post-secondary education in music, theatre, dance, education, or arts or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in theatre and acting direction and coaching
- Experience teaching singing and dancing considered a strong asset
- Experience in costume design, lighting design, and/or set design considered an asset
- Ability to design and execute engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Flexibly to adjust teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Leadership and ownership over all lessons and programming.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with parents, students, and the leadership team.
- Team player with the ability to work independently when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Kindness, enthusiasm for education, and a passion for working with children and young adults.
- Ability to drive and access to a vehicle.
- CPR and First Aid Certification, and a current vulnerable sector check (or ability to obtain one).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
