**GSS Delta View Care Centre currently has an exciting opportunity for Recreation Aides to work in a dynamic and friendly environment.**

**Tuesday 12:00-19:30 Wednesday - Saturday 10:00-17:30**

12:00-7:30pm Monday
- Thursday

**EMPLOYMENT TYPE**:
Temporary Full Time (FTE 0.97)

**WAGE**: $29.83 - BC Wage Leveling in Effect

**UNION**: HEU

The Activity Aide carries out established recreation programs, which have been designed to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs/interests of the residents.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Participates in the creation, organization and implementation of activity programs.
- Sets up equipment for activity projects.
- Assists and ambulates residents to and from activities.
- Helps with communicating and promoting the daily activities as well as upcoming programs and events through announcements, calendars, posters etc.
- Observes and reports changes in a resident’s functional and cognitive behavior to the designated nursing staff.
- Accompanies residents on outings and during social activities.
- Provides input into planning and evaluating recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback to the Therapeutic Services Director.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Grade 12 plus completion of recognized Recreational Certificate
- 1 year recent related experience working with seniors or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Food Safe Level 1
- CPR Level A
- Emergency First Aid
- Have a class 4 license/ or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment

**REQUIREMENT**
All new employees are required to submit:

- a current and clear Criminal Record Check Form and Clearance Letter prior to the hire date;
- a tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.

Pay: $29.83 per hour
