Gift Shop Supervisor

Overview:
The Gift Shop Supervisor is responsible for providing a value-added experience to all Resort guests throughout our property. They will be responsible creating a positive, informative, and fun atmosphere for the Resort. This position is critical in providing quick and efficient transactions to our patrons and associates. They will promote and maintain the utmost integrity and highest caliber of customer service.
The Gift Shop Supervisor will provide leadership, training, and supervision to the Gift shop staff. They are responsible for reporting all operational exceptions/concerns to the Gift Shop Manager and Assistant Manager. They will create a welcoming environment for all our guests using these services. In addition, provide leadership support when managing guest in Gift shop sales and provide personal contact for all Gift Shop transactions. This position is critical in developing guest contact and fostering loyalty with our patrons. They will promote and maintain the utmost integrity and highest caliber of guest service and respect to all guests, and associates.

- Help guests with purchases.
- Will provide leadership, training, and supervision to the cashiers on duty.
- Responsible for opening and/or closing the gift shop.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures, store opening & closing procedures are followed.
- Responsible for stocking and rotation of merchandise.
- Encourage mutual accountability in service and inspiring others.
- Participate in executing Resort promotions.
- Have detailed knowledge of all events, activities and attractions occurring in the Resort.
- Uphold a teamwork experience helping where available or when requested.
- Accountable for daily till drop at cash cage.
- Ability to lead, coach, develop and mentor staff.
- Train retail staff to ensure correct use of programs relating to point-of-sale and inventory management.
- Complete monthly inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
- Daily/Nightly cashier duties
- To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ experience in a high-volume customer service environment
- Minimum two years’ experience in the gaming industry, promotions, events, hospitality or customer service based work preferred
- Minimum 3 years cash handling experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years retail experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications: word, excel, power point and outlook
- High School diploma
- Hospitality diploma an asset
Gift Shop Supervisor will work in a challenging fast paced environment where effective decision making and the ability to prioritize is a must**. **It will be a high traffic customer area, and requires extended periods of sitting, standing or walking which will include areas of the Gift Shop and office space. The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
