Pet Crematory Operator

DUTIES:

- Operate and maintain pet cremation and aquamation equipment with care and precision, ensuring all procedures are conducted in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Handle the receipt, tracking, and identification of pets entering the crematory process, maintaining accurate records throughout.
- Show sensitivity and compassion when interacting with grieving pet owners who may be present during drop-off or pickup.
- Collaborate closely with our customer service team to coordinate schedules and ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the crematory area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance on cremation and aquamation equipment and report any technical issues promptly.
- Maintain a respectful and empathetic demeanor while addressing inquiries and concerns from pet owners.
- Assist in packaging and returning cremated remains to pet owners, ensuring accuracy in labeling and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a related field, such as animal care, veterinary services, or crematory operations, is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to following established protocols.
- Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move pets of various sizes (with assistance, if necessary).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends and holidays, as required.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

This position requires heavy lifting and may involve some customer service interactions. The operator will be responsible for operating machinery, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring production processes run smoothly. Strong mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team are essential for success in this role.
