Andrew Fleck Children’s Services is hiring a bilingual Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) for our Licensed Women’s Shelter Respite Child Care Programs Our Early Childhood Educators plan the environment to guide the children’s learning, enhance their knowledge, and meet their individual development needs. We provide a supportive environment that encourages positive social interactions and an understanding of each child’s uniqueness.

**ABOUT THE LICENSED WOMEN’S SHELTER RESPITE CHILD CARE PROGRAMS**

The Licensed Shelter Respite Child Care Program offers mothers residing in the shelter, temporary child care for their child or children. This program is designed to support mothers who may need to attend appointments, meet with shelter staff or for respite care. The program offers on site licensed child care for children up to the age of 12 years old, in a safe, caring and stimulating

environment.

**Salary**: $25.61 to $29.69 per hour

**Hours**:35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, Shifts between 7:15 am to 5:30 pm

**Location**: Licensed Shelter Program-Vanier

**Closing date**:July 11th, 2025

**In this role you will**
- Participate in a child-focused curriculum where staff and children work together to expand and develop a wide range of skills and competence based on the emergent curriculum philosophy. An emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of the children. It is often spontaneous and responsive to their immediate interests; topics are driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves
- Engage in caring, curious, and respectful interactions with children to support their growing relationships with themselves, each other, and the natural world
- Actively encourage and promote outdoor learning and play with the children
- Be committed to the welfare and development of all children, and be available for consultation, information, and resources for families and guardians
- Welcome the diversity of all families, role modelling inclusive and accessible language

**To qualify for this role you have**
- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education
- RECE in good standing with the CECE
- Excellent French and English verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a group setting
- Clear Police Records check completed in last 6 months
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- Proven ability to work closely with other team members
- Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
- Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
