Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the successful applicant will provide assessment and treatment for our students. The SLP will assess and implement communication intervention programs to support students with speech, language, literacy and communication challenges to achieve their academic and personal potential. The SLP will perform the tasks and duties within their scope of practice and in accordance with the standards outlined in the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario. This **temporary, full-time position commencing immediately until June 26, 2026 working (10) months per year and 37.5 hours per week**from the Catholic Education Centre in Dublin, Ontario.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide screening, assessment, intervention, collaborate with administrators, teachers, learning coordinators/consultants and make recommendations regarding speech and language programs, resources, accommodations and modifications for students with communication disorders and developmental challenges.
- Enhance student outcomes by facilitating student access, participation and inclusion in the curriculum and broader school environment.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team and family/parental meetings.
- Develop individualized communication and literacy materials that support a students communication and/or literacy development.
- Model various speech, language and communication facilitation strategies.
- Engage with individuals and agencies involved in teaching or providing speech/communication services to students.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation in compliance with the Boards policies, practices and College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario standards.
- Collect student specific data as required to inform the program recommendations identified. Interpret data and prepare reports as required by the Superintendent of Education.
- Demonstrate accountability for SLP professional standards and in accordance with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Education and effectively manage a diverse and changing caseload.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience is required; preferable in an educational environment and/or public sector.
- High level of interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills.
- Working knowledge of, and experience in the education system in Ontario.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including presentation skills and preparing reports.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful relationships and collaborations with administrators, educators, various partners, and the broader community.
- Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive matters, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines with excellent time management skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, initiative and ability to exercise judgment in difficult situations.
- Ability to maintain tact, discretion and strict confidentiality.
- Ability to perform well independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviours and proactively managing bias
- Computer skills including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- A valid class G (or higher) Ontario drivers licence and a reliable vehicle, this position requires use of own vehicle.
