**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the design and development of innovative nutrition and therapeutic solutions based on genomics and microbiome data for companion animals.
- Conduct cutting-edge research to explore the role of the microbiome and genomics in pet health, with a focus on gut health, dental health, and skin/coat health.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including veterinary scientists, chemists, and biopharma experts, to translate research findings into marketable products.
- Drive the scientific direction of research and product development, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and vision.
- Stay at the forefront of advancements in genomics, microbiome science, and pet health, continually seeking creative, data-driven solutions to complex health challenges.
- Design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and develop reports and presentations to share findings with internal stakeholders and the scientific community.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team, mentoring junior scientists and encouraging creative problem-solving.

**Qualifications**
- PhD, Master's degree, or equivalent experience in Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field, with a focus on genomics or microbiome research.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in research and development, particularly in the areas of genomics, microbiome science, or pet health.
- Engineers and bioengineers with relevant expertise are encouraged to apply.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and envision innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Experience working in a biotech or startup environment, with the ability to adapt to fast-paced and evolving project requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for pet health and a genuine desire to improve the lives of companion animals through science.
