**Please note**: This is a limited term position until the end of October, 35 hours/week.
The Elections Administrator will coordinate the planning, organization, administration, delivery, reporting and evaluation of municipal elections. This will include the development of short‐term plans, leading recruitment, development of training materials, training and oversight of election workers, working with vendors on preparation of voting locations, procurement of material and supplies, coordination and delivery of material and supplies to polling stations, and coordinating logistics for all advance votes and on election day.
**What You'll Do**:
- Manage Voting Station Supplies: Keep our voting stations fully stocked and ready to go, ensuring seamless operations on election day.
- Maintain Election Websites: Keep both the public election website and the internal election webpage up-to-date and informative.
- Assist with Recruitment: Play a key role in recruiting election workers and managing correspondence.
- Perform Administrative Tasks: Your keen eye for detail will be vital as you carry out administrative functions with precision and accuracy.
- Organize Meetings: Schedule, organize, and assist with both internal and external meetings, preparing agendas, maintaining minutes, and distributing related materials.
**What You'll Bring**:
- Election Experience: You have experience planning, organizing, and delivering government elections.
- Education: You possess post-secondary education.
- Communication Skills: Your excellent communication skills enable you to remain professional while working with internal and external clients, including coworkers, the public, and senior administration.
- Organizational Prowess: Your strong organization and time management skills allow you to work under pressure and handle a high volume of various tasks.
- Customer Service Expertise: Your ability to provide top-notch customer service and handle confidential matters discreetly and professionally is second to none.
- Political Sensitivity Management: You have experience managing political sensitivities effectively.
- Legislation Knowledge: Familiarity with the Municipal Government Act, Local Authorities Elections Act, and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is an asset.
- Commissioner for Oaths: You either hold this certification or can obtain it.
