**About The Role**:
At Discovery Child Care Center you will work as an Early Childhood Assistant alongside some of the most passionate, caring and dedicated educators in the industry. You will spend your days immersed in outdoor, natural environments and spend your time engaging and connecting children with nature. You will model a growth mindset through collaborative inquiry and share your passion with the natural world.You will strive for a deeper understanding of cultivating an ecological identity for children, families, educators, and the community. Educators in this role ensure they operate from respect, gratitude and awareness,for the natural world. They are passionate about life-long learning and possess resilience. They ensure that their daily contributions operate in alignment with our core values.

**About You**:
You are passionate about spending the majority of your days outdoors and see the value in connecting children with the natural world. You are inspired to bring quality early learning and care, emergent curriculum and life-long learning to the lives of children. You are positive, joyful, proactive, reflective, and creative in your pursuits of creating learning opportunities for children. You are passionate about building connections and engaging with children and families.

**Experience**:

- 1-2 years of childcare or teaching experience (preferred)
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a licensed childcare environment (preferred)
- 1-2 years experience working in an outdoor, natural environment an asset

**Education and Certifications**:
Standard First Aid/CPR Level C (required)

New and original Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months (required)

Updated Immunizations/ Refusal of Affidavit (required)

**Language**:
English (required)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.50-$21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
