Allen Family Foods is seeking a keen problem solving, dedicated, team-oriented finance professional to join its finance team and its rapidly growing business as Finance Manager.
About the business.

AFF makes artisan, small batch home-style soups in microwaveable, pantry-stable containers at its brand new, state of the art manufacturing facility and head office location in Abbotsford BC. The company has seen tremendous growth in sales of its soups through Costco in Canada and USA, other fine retailers and since its launch in September 2021.

Allen Family Foods is a family-owned business with over 80 years of experience in the food industry.

**The opportunity**
There is a strong opportunity for mentoring, increased finance and business knowledge and for evolution and advancement given the pace of growth in the business and the lean finance team. The business is a dynamic environment and there will be an opportunity to learn and collaborate with operations and sales. The Finance Manager will be reporting to the VP Finance with a dotted line to the President, overseeing the accountant and working closely with the operations team.

The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting function of AFF. They will report to the part-time VP Finance and to the President. There is an opportunity for this role to develop over time.

**Timing and location**: The role will be a full time and a flexible hybrid of working from home and in-person based at the company’s modern, state of the art offices in Abbotsford, BC.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee accounting and day to day treasury management.
- Review and oversee preparation of month end financial statements.
- Overseeing the inventory accounting process and calculation of manufacturing COGS.
- Preparing financial reports such as monthly KPI dashboard and financial statements.
- Inventory accounting.
- ERP management and oversight.
- Month-end and year-end closing.
- Directly oversee the team’s existing accountant.
- Assist in completing year end assurance compilation and reviews.
- Oversee human resources and payroll team.

**Qualifications**
- CPA designation.
- Deep experience with QuickBooks or other accounting programs.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience in accounting for manufacturing is an asset.
- ERP implementation and management is an asset.
- Experience overseeing human resources and with Ceridian is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Desire to learn and take initiative as a self starter.
- Team Player.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
- 5+ years experience in either an accounting firm or industry preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience preparing monthly and annual financial reports for executives and shareholders.

**Compensation details**:
$85,500 - $105,000 plus comprehensive benefits.

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
