**Position Overview**:
We are currently seeking an Accounting Technician to join our team. We are looking for an individual with public accounting experience who can quickly integrate into our dynamic work environment.

**Responsibilities**:
As an Accounting Technician, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with and executing compilation engagements, including the preparation of financial statements for a variety of businesses.
- Preparing personal and corporate tax and GST returns.
- Planning, preparing, and executing bookkeeping assignments, including full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions.
- Assisting clients with accounting software, bookkeeping, and data entry as assigned.
- Performing reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, lines of credit, loans, accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital assets, and depreciation.
- Calculating payroll, including CRA remittances, and preparing ROEs and T4s.
- Complying with all federal, provincial, tax regulations, along with company policies and procedures.
- Communicating with government agencies regarding information requests, assessments, and installments.

**Requirements**:

- 2-5 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting, preferably with a public accounting practice.
- Experience with compilation engagements and the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under time pressures.
- A working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Capability to execute on deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.
- Quick learner and self-starter.
- A Bachelor's of Business Administration, Accounting diploma, or certificate is an asset.
- Working knowledge of TaxPrep, Caseware, Sage, and QuickBooks software is considered an asset.
