Summer Camp Sports Specialist

Bayview Glen is currently looking to hire a Sports specialist for the coming summer of 2025. We are looking for individuals to engage our campers with creative, innovative, unique, and inclusive programming for children between the ages of 7 - 13 capitalizing on our fantastic indoor space (2 gyms) and outdoor space (large soccer field, basketball court, and field areas). This position reports to the Camp Specialist Director.

**Responsibilities**
- Create daily and weekly activity schedules for each age/cabin group.
- Develop daily drills and activities to build skills.
- Design activities that encourage skill development in campers.
- Organize necessary materials and supplies for activities, with assistance from administrative staff.
- Facilitate activities in a fun, calm, patient, and motivational manner, supporting campers.
- Take camper attendance upon arrival and before departure.
- Supervise campers while on-site during the camp program.
- Ensure the safety and health of campers on-site.
- Communicate regularly with head staff to remain aware of any physical, psychological, emotional, or medical limitations of campers or staff that could affect safety on-site.
- Adjust daily and weekly schedules as needed based on camper groups.
- Participate in all scheduled theme days.

**Qualifications**
- Must have at least completed Grade 12.
- Experience coaching youth sports is an asset.
- Knowledge of drills for a number of sports is an asset.
- Standard First Aid Training and CPR-C or higher required (certification opportunity through camp).
- Comfortable providing detailed and written incident/accident reports.
- Preference given to those applicants with previous experience within a camp setting.
- As a condition of employment, a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check and First Aid certification will be required.
