**Wage: $19 TO $25 per hour**
**Full Time: 35 to 40 hrs/wk.**
**Permanent - full-time position**

**Location: 3411 Mckinley Drive, Abbotsford BC**

**Smile 'N' Play Daycare is located in West Abbotsford. We have THREE locations within Abbotsford. We are looking for a qualified ECE to provide care in a warm and nurturing environment and trustworthy and respectful services to meet the needs of the families and children in our community who require childcare.**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**The ECE will oversee** **the** **day-to-day operation and work alongside the facility manager and Smile 'N' Play Daycare's Director. The ECE is responsible for managing the center to provide quality, inclusive childcare services. The ECE must have a strong understanding of quality care, providing culturally and age-appropriate child care programming, early childhood development, and Child Care Licensing Regulations, and can work in respectful collaboration with families and child development centers.**

**Responsibilities**
- **Ensure that the center promotes positive, holistic, strength-based early childhood development in a culturally appropriate manner to support all areas of the child’s development and needs. Ensuring the environment feels safe for all children.**:

- **Ensure the center meets all requirements of Childcare Licensing Regulations, including maintaining the facility and the children’s files.**:

- **Able to work independently and provide daily care to children of various ages.**:

- **Utilizing positive behaviour management strategies to guide children’s behaviour. Working in collaboration with Child Development Center to support children with high behavioural needs.**:

- **Develop and provide age-appropriate program/curriculum planning, informed by the latest early childhood development research**:

- **Ensure positive communication and collaboration with staff, professionals, parents, guardians, families and caregivers. Utilizing positive and respectful conflict resolution skills.**:

- **Perform other duties as required.**

**Requirements and Qualifications**

**Education and Certification**:

- **Criminal Records Check.**:

- **Current First Aid**:

- **VALID Early Childhood Certification or with Infant Toddler and Special Needs Certification**:

- **Proof of Covid Vaccinations**

**Experience**
- **Minimum 1 to 3 years experience working with children.**

**Knowledge and Skill**
- **Excellent verbal, written, and active listening skills**:

- **Positive communication skills**:

- **Knowledge Early Learning Framework and implementation of Educational Play-Based Curriculum**:

- **Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills to prioritize competing priorities.**:

- **Demonstrated leadership ability and experience with program planning and development for children aged 3 months to 12 years.**:

- **Able to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.**:

- **Up to date knowledge of relevant community resources.**

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
