Accounting and Assurance Manager

This role has the potential to participate in the ownership of the firm and help direct the firm into the future.
**Role and responsibilities**:
- Complete review and compilation engagements for a variety of industries
- Perform audit procedures, from planning to completion of the file
- Prepare corporate, trust and personal tax returns
- Mentor and train staff
- Respond to enquiries from clients and taxation authorities
- Establish positive relationships with clients and technical support as needed
- Prepare government filing requirements (T4’s, T5’s, HST returns, etc.)
- Ensure the firm continues to meet professional standards
- Identify business development opportunities with new and existing clients
**Required qualifications and skills**:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Self-starter with excellent time-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong Canadian Tax knowledge
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands and priorities
- Familiarity with a paperless working paper environment
- Knowledge of Caseware, TaxCycle, Quickbooks and Sage
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Enjoys keeping current in all areas of technical knowledge by enrolling in professional development
- Possess a minimum 3-5 years of public accounting experience in Canada
