**About the role**:
Miller Waste is currently searching a talented and conscientious team member for the role of Claims Clerk

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Claims Clerk, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Assessing motor vehicle and property-related incidents and claims and identifying requirements for insurance reporting
- Coordinating and facilitating claims resolutions with insurer
- Conversing with claimants directly
- Working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to resolve claims
- Understanding and assessing municipal by-laws and contractual requirements
- Coordinating, gathering and documenting incident information from the field and claimants
- Documenting and inputting claim details and data into document management system
- Effectively assessing coverage and liability

**Requirements**:

- College diploma or university degree, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Basic knowledge of the Insurance Act of Ontario required; basic knowledge of Manitoba Public Insurance, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Insurance would be considered an asset
- Understanding insurance reporting requirements
- Understanding of DCPD and Accident Benefits
- General Insurance handling procedures
- Ability to read and comprehend insurance policies
- Law clerk or paralegal experience would be considered an asset
