Evening and Weekend Dog Walker/ Pet Sitter

Hiring a Pet Consultant in the Pickering/ Ajax area for casual evening and weekend work.

You will require your own vehicle to get to and from clients homes.

Duties include...
- Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes for walks
- Ensure security of their homes when picking up and dropping off
- Understand special requests and conditions for each animal
- Conduct pet sitting in clients homes (this requires early morning 7:30am up to 11pm visits)
- Walk dogs outdoors in all weather conditions (anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour at a time
- Give each dog love and attention
- Ensure each dog is getting exercise and potty breaks
- Ensure safety of the dogs you are walking and those (humans and dogs) around them
- Remove pet waste
- Give medication if required
- Maintain leadership of the pack of dogs (if walking multiple dogs at a time)
- Take photos of the dogs (so human clients can see how they are doing)
- Refresh water, wipe paws and give treats and feed if required.
- Update manager with text including photos or videos of dogs
- Record which dog(s) you walked, how long the walks were, anything abnormal that you noticed during the walk
- Keep track of your time and submit to the employer

Ideally you are an individual with a background with animals, who is capable of reading behaviours and who can handle large breed/difficult/assertive dogs. You MUST be bondable as you will be entering peoples homes. A criminal record check will need to be provided before beginning employment.

This job takes a special kind of person, one who is fit and has a general love of animals.
