**Salary**: $20 - $22 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

**Job Summary**:
As a **Cook and Baker**, you will prepare and cook a wide variety of foods and ensure the work area is kept clean. You will also prepare baked goods and perform other related duties.

**Education and Experience**:
Grade 12 education or GED along with considerable experience working as a cook. Experience using different cooking tools, equipment, and utensils. Preference will be given to those with a Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field. Must have valid Food Safe Level 1 certification. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.

- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and techniques
- Basic knowledge of mathematics to make correct measurements of ingredients
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Ability to handle high production levels
- Ability to follow recipe instructions
- Ability to manage ingredient inventories
- Ability to keep the environment safe and clean
- Excellent oral communication skills, as well as basic written skills

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector prior to starting work
- A valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license
- Medical Clearance, Immunization records, TB screening
- Valid First Aid certificate and CPR
- A valid Food Safe Level 1 certificate
- Able to lift up to 50 lb
- Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time
- Willing to respect and maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to keep up-to-date in your discipline
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime as required
- Willingness to travel within Whitehorse, as required.
