**WORK ILLUSTRATION**:
Reporting to the manager, IT Portfolio Management, the IT Technical Consultant provides technical and analytical support, performs trouble shooting functions, implements processes, systems or projects that contribute to the efficient and effective technical delivery in the operational areas of Information Technology.

The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Analyzes business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the IT Systems
- Installs, configures, maintains, enhances Information Technology systems software and hardware in accordance with corporate and security standards, for defined area of expertise
- Supports and responds to service outages and incidents
- Supports Information Technology System testing, deployment and upgrade activities
- Creates and maintains documentation to support IT Systems and Processes
- Identifies problems and opportunities for improvement of IT Services, systems or processes
- Troubleshoots and maintains IT systems to improve reliability, capacity, performance
- Performs administrative routines associated with the position
- Familiar with supporting secure print management solutions
- Experience supporting IT asset management tools
- Experience evaluating software licensing and support contracts
- Knowledgeable in ITIL processes and best practices for IT Service Management
- Experienced in executing projects with both Waterfall and Agile methodology

**REQUIRMENTS**:

- Undergraduate degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology.
- Experience with integrating platforms such as WebSphere AIP, IBM Integration Bus, IBM ACE.
- Proficient with SQL, Java, Shell Scripting, Batch Scripts.
- Proficient with Windows / Linux / AIX
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ensures measures are in place to track achievements
- Innovation and creative problem solving
- Effective approach to risk management
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrates safety awareness
- Electrical utility experience an asset

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
