Little Learning House Inc is hiring a permanent, full-time Early childhood educator for our centre. In order to be considered for this job, you **MUST have a Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Education certification or be eligible to receive certification in Alberta**.

The position will report to the centre director and ensure care and safety of children at the centre. We are looking for an innovative and outgoing individual who is willing to grow with the centre and loves on-going learning

**This is a full-time float/coverage position.**The successful applicant will be an extra staff on-site to provide coverage and assistance to the kitchen, transportation of children, programming, documentation, vacation, sick days, and other ECE duties as assigned by centre director. Shifts will vary based on coverage need between 6:30am and 5:30pm.

**Educator Job duties**:

- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- May plan and organize innovative and engaging activities for children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
- supervise/provide guidance to ECE assistants
- Other duties as assigned

**Educator Wage**: $16-20/hour + Government top-up

**Qualifications**
1. Early Childhood Educator (Level 2 or 3 ONLY)
2. CPR and First Aid
3. College / University education in relevant field

4. Clean criminal background and vulnerable sector check within last 6 months

5. Clean driving record and valid driver's license in Alberta

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.64-$28.62 per hour
