We are looking for a reliable and punctual courier who loves cargo bikes and sustainable logistics, to safely deliver various items to our customers’ locations. The cargo bike courier’s responsibilities include collaboration with management and store staff and answering any questions that recipients may have regarding deliveries. You should also ensure that packages are not damaged or affected by harsh weather conditions, and you are willing to ride in all conditions.

**Cargo Bike Courier Responsibilities**:

- Daily basic maintenance of the cargo bikes and systems.
- Picking up, sortation, and delivering various packages to specified locations as per the delivery instructions provided by dispatch staff.
- Providing a seamless customer experience in line with Penguin Pickup values.
- Verifying addresses and locations before each delivery to ensure that there are no errors.
- Adjusting travel routes as necessary and providing feedback to management regarding route planning.
- Securing packages to prevent damage during transit.
- Obtaining recipients’ signatures upon completion of each delivery to confirm receipt of the correct items.
- Regularly communicating with management, customer service, and customers to provide delivery updates and receive instructions for new deliveries.
- Assisting with store operations as necessary.

**Cargo Bike Courier Requirements**:

- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience working as a bike courier and knowledge of Metro Vancouver cycle routes.
- Ability to complete (or already completed) City of Vancouver’s bike courier exam.
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations in British Columbia.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- The ability to use GPS devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good physical stamina.
- Reliable and punctual.

**Physical Demands**:

- Must be able to work in varied outdoor temperatures and sustain physical activity levels over time, including being able to lift 25 kgs, squatting, standing for a prolonged period and walking throughout shift, and adhere to all WorkSafeBC requirements;
- Must be willing and able to wear the required uniform;
- Maintain a clean, and presentable appearance at all times.

**Schedule**:

- Monday to Friday, willingness to work weekends if necessary
