**Park Attendant (Forestry)**

The Town of BWG is looking for an energetic and highly motivated individual to join the Parks Division of the Recreation & Cultural Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor of Parks and Property, this position will provide support to the Arboriculture team by assisting with the maintenance/care of trees.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Tree pruning, Felling, Bucking, Chipping.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of trucks, trailers, mowers and trimmers
- Maintain municipal parks and properties
- Planting, mulching and watering of Town trees, (when required).
- General housekeeping duties (as needed)
- Assist with managing litter in parks and in and around municipal facilities, trails, walkways and cemeteries.
- Operation and repair of irrigation systems as required.
- Assist with general parkland maintenance and/or project work when required.
- Work as support staff for Town run special events, assisting in facility set-up for meetings and events as required and performs such other related duties as assigned.

**Key Competencies and Qualifications**
- 1-2 years of previous Arboriculture/Parks Maintenance experience preferably in a Municipality
- General knowledge of arboriculture practices
- Chainsaw and Chipper experience is required; certification preferred
- A high school diploma or recognized equivalent
- Possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, project/time management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies and the public.
- Must have the availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability provide a satisfactory Criminal Record and Police Information Check upon hire.

This position offers an hourly rate of $21.86 to $26.86 _(April 1, 2024 rates, International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793)._
